Privacy
DingSong doesn't collect your personal information.
What we don't do
- We don't use cookies.
- We don't run traffic analytics, tracking, or ad scripts. Fonts, images, music, and all code are hosted on DingSong itself.
- We don't require you to log in. There are no memberships, comments, or forms, and we don't ask you for your email address or any other personal information.
Recording, the microphone, and your own files
- Your privacy matters. Recording, processing, and making ringtones all happen in your browser. DingSong has no server that accepts files, so we don't, and can't, receive or keep your voice.
- Microphone: it's used only when you start singing in Karaoke in the Studio. The first time, your browser asks whether to allow it. The Studio's "Record" button records the notes you play and doesn't use the microphone.
- Files you open: audio files, videos, MIDI files, and any score you type in are read only in your browser and are not uploaded.
What stays only in your own browser
So you can pick up where you left off next time, the items below are saved in your own browser (small storage built into the browser, technically called localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB). They stay on this device only and aren't sent anywhere:
- Light and dark: the color mode you picked.
- Background Music: playback settings such as "Repeat one" and "Play this list."
- Music Class: the settings you choose and songs you enter yourself (including unfinished ones).
- Studio: the notes you play, the instruments and volumes you choose, and your Karaoke sync timing setting. Your singing voice is not saved.
- Music Stories: whether to use large text.
- AI Songwriting: the settings you choose and the words you write.
- Ringtones: whether "Preview on phone speaker" is on; whether you've chosen a file of your own in this tab (only that you did, never the file itself, and it's gone when you close the tab). Sound you bring to the Ringtones page from the Studio or Music Class is stored briefly and deleted as soon as the Ringtones page reads it.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of these.
Kids using DingSong
Music Class and the Studio have a Kids mode. When kids use DingSong, it's the same: we don't collect any data, there's no login, and there are no ads.
Music videos and YouTube links on the home page
Our music videos are on YouTube. For the music video in "Today's picks" on the home page, DingSong doesn't connect to YouTube until you press play. Only then does it load the YouTube player (in YouTube's "privacy-enhanced mode," at youtube-nocookie.com), and from then on YouTube's own privacy policy applies. Music in Music Stories plays directly from DingSong, not through YouTube. "Watch the full music video on YouTube" at the end of each story is a regular link; YouTube opens only when you press it.
AI songwriting and Gemini
DingSong's pages don't connect to Google's AI. You press "Copy" in AI Songwriting, then go to Gemini yourself and paste it. What you do in Gemini is covered by Google's own terms.
Where the site is hosted (Cloudflare)
DingSong is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, when you connect, your browser gives connection information such as your IP address (like a street address on the internet) to the hosting service so the data can be delivered and kept secure. DingSong doesn't separately record, analyze, or keep this information. Cloudflare may also ask your browser to send error reports (Network Error Logging) back to Cloudflare if a connection fails.
External links
DingSong links to other sites, such as sheet music sites, Gemini, YouTube, and our sister sites. Once you open them, those sites' own privacy policies apply.
